Acer was acquired by Gateway so I would avoid them. If the Celeron lenovo is the only other choice I would get that. Celeron is the bottom of the CPU barrel.

lenovo is part of ibm corp., i made bad complaints about acer i guess they heard me , seems some of the newer acers are the way to go , tested a couple of models – rating 4*** out of 5

Overall I’d say Lenovo. They bought IBM’s PC division in 2005, and still use most of the same engineers. In my opinion, they build solid laptops with excellent ergonomics, and I would recommend them.

FYI:

Acer owns Gateway, not the other way around.

IBM does not own Lenovo (though they might own some stock). IBM sold off its PC division in 2005 to Lenovo to concentrate on other areas like IT.

It’s almost impossible to suggest one over the other. They both make excellent products. You have listed almost no specifications at all. It’s hard to tell which is better for you. It depends on a lot of things to, like what you will be using it for, etc. Also, there is no such thing as an “Intel Core Processor”. There is the “Core i3, i5, and i7″ and then there are the “Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad” and the Extreme versions of those two. An Intel Celeron processor is the lowest of their lineup next to the Atom processor, which often beats the Celeron in real-world situations. If it’s an Intel Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, or any other Core i processor, than go with the Acer.

Acknowledge much better?
