this is a comparison of all the processors. it might just tell you what your asking

GHz means very little when you look at whats fastest….there are alot of considerations for a performance rating such as cache, number of cores ect… AMD has always rated on performance knowing thats what the customer wants to know. For real performance charts check out tomshardware.com there they have non biased results of benchmarking just about everything.

The i7 can go up to 3.2GHz depending on the workload. the i5 stays at the same frequency.
i7 and some i5′s have turbo boost.

go to the link below and read all about it? i5 v i7, does the 5 and 7 refer to the number of cores the CPU has? so clock speed (Ghz), is higher in the i5 than in the i7? So me trying to make a profession out of Computers, help out people who know less than me because I took the time to go to Tech. to learn, put me almost in you catergory? so you can google as easy as I can?
Answer by Daiatron
The GHz can’t be taken in to account to differentiate differents families of processors, you only can look at the performance that takes each one with the applications that you are going to use. In some applications one processor will be better than the other, and with other applications could be the opposite.
