Custom gaming computer?

Quandary created by Gevorg D: Custom Gaming Computer?

I want to to build my own computer, so please give me a list of components.

Case

MotherBoard and CPU

Blue Ray player

Cooling system

Wireless card

Sound Card

Graphic Card ( i want GTX 580, but mayber there is a better option)

1TB hard drive

etc (i might have missed some things)

considering that the video card itself is already around 500 dollars, could you give the part names that would make the total cost around 1500, focusing more on the performance rather then design and looks.

Thank you

also, i was wondering if the brands of the parts matter, meaning, are there certain brands that work better together or that does not matter. Thank You

one more thing, how long do you think i could go with the given system before i need to upgrade it to better graphic card or cpu or ram

Try the $ 1250 build on this site’s list. You’ll need to add Windows and the BluRay player, which will pull you up near $ 1500. http://www.hardware-revolution.com/computer-systems/

Use review sites to check brand names. Getting a top quality brand is more important in some components – such as power supplies – than others – such as DVD drives. http://newegg.com/ is a great place to buy parts online, and they have many customer reviews.

Graphics: Two EVGA GTX 460 768MB Graphics cards (see notes at the end.)

$ 170 x 2 = $ 340

Processor: Intel Core i7 950

$ 280

RAM: Corsair Dominator 1600MHz 6GB

$ 150

Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth x58 LGA1366 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0

$ 180

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 7200RPM 1TB 6Gb/s (The 6Gb/s is cheaper than the 3Gb/s, and the motherboard supports SATA 6Gb/s.)

$ 90

Blu-ray: Lite-on 8x Blu-ray Combo SATA (Reads Blu-ray’s and reads and burns to CD’s and DVD’s [sorry, no BR burning])

$ 50

Water Cooling: Corsair H70 (Generally, water cooling is better than air cooling.)

$ 100

Sound (optional): Creative 7.1 SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium (The motherboard has built-in 7.1 audio)

$ 100

Power Supply (you forgot this one video SLI power need motherboard list Intel Core GTX gaming DVD Custom Gaming Computer custom Computer components BR better answer Custom gaming computer? httpdesktopi7 blogspot com ): Corsair TX650 (650w is enough for your system.)

$ 80

Case: Antec 300 Illusion Mid Tower

$ 70

Wireless Card (optional): Any of them will do, although wireless and gaming don’t go together.

Operating System (You forgot this one too): Windows 7 Home Premium OEM

$ 100

Remember, you need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse as well.

I don’t recommend the GTX 580 because it is out of your budget. If you choose to go with the 580, you won’t have enough for the operating system. Two GTX 460′s in SLI will be really good for gaming.

The things marked as “optional” are because they don’t fit within the budget, and the motherboard already includes the audio, although it doesn’t have wireless.

To use SLI with your graphics cards, connect the graphics cards together with the SLI bridge that came with your motherboard. Overclocking is not really a necessity, but it will give you better performance, and it’s completely FREE! (minus the extra energy need by the power supply.) Go to Google or Youtube and search for “how to overclock core i7″.

I found that the total cost without the sound card and wireless card to be around $ 1440 (not including tax, shipping, and handling.) Buy the sound card and wireless card if you absolutely have to have it.

There might be some stuff I missed, so research the components before you spend your hard-earned money on something that you have no idea about.

I hope my answer helped.
